Had an amazing day with a skilled forager who truly understands his plants. I walked away feeling confident about foraging the ones we discussed, and I'm eager to give it another go real soon.

I had a great time for a couple of hours, picking up knowledge about some common edible plants and a type of fungus - just enough to keep in mind after one session. Jim shows a real passion for his work and follows a responsible foraging philosophy, meaning you only take what you need and leave no sign of your visit. I’ll surely be keeping my eyes peeled on my next walks!

After a two-hour intro session at Bassenthwaite, I feel ready to try my hand at wild foraging. It was a great way to spend the morning and really boosted my appreciation for the edible plants that are everywhere.

This was our first go at foraging, and Jim was just fantastic! He ran an amazing workshop that really boosted our confidence to explore foraging safely and wisely. I’d suggest this to anyone who loves being outdoors and is keen on cultivating their own food.

Our initial foraging adventure was a blast, thanks to Jim. His knowledge was impressive, and he had a delightful way about him. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and we can't wait to check out one of his other workshops when the seasons change.

Jim was a laid-back, enjoyable, and knowledgeable leader for our forage. He showed us a bunch of fascinating edible and poisonous plants, even though it was February. The scarlet elf cups were especially stunning.

Awesome introductory experience. Super informative and my girlfriend and I are totally into foraging now! It’s kinda strange to think I’ll be out there munching on nettles soon 😅

Jim was fantastic! It was just the perfect introduction to foraging that I needed to kick things off. I’d totally recommend it to anyone considering joining one of the sessions.

The host was really knowledgeable, identifying a bunch of species and sampling those that were safe to try.

What a fantastic day! Huge thanks for the experience. I was really intrigued to discover what can be foraged in February! Thankfully, the rain held off. The food at the Bassenthwaite Lake Station was also delicious. Totally worth the effort and a great deal, I'd definitely do something like this again.

I went to the 2-hour foraging session and it was a fantastic experience! The group size was just right and the pace matched our skills perfectly! We discovered a bunch of different species with Jim's help, and we even got to taste some during the session! Those 2 hours went by in a flash, totally worth it, and I can't wait for the longer sessions ahead.

Spent a couple of hours diving into the world of fungi and winter foraging plants. It’s a safe way to experience nature! Jim was captivating and kept us interested; we had a blast discovering edibles we usually wouldn’t pay attention to. Really good times.

To be honest, I was curious about what I could find in January. I figured it would be more about what I could discover later, but I was totally mistaken. I’ve never had a more delightful morning strolling through the woods and sampling what I found. I gained a ton of knowledge and tried so many new flavors. It was amazing. I went with a buddy, but honestly, I reckon you could do this solo since the group was super friendly and the course leader did a fantastic job of getting everyone to work together. I highly suggest checking out this company.
